Kenneth Charles Hyder, 44, of East Flat Rock, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Pardee Hospital.
Born to the late Kemple and Gloria Parrish Hyder, Kenneth was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Tammy Hyder.
A faithful member of Mud Creek Baptist Church, Kenneth was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to make others laugh and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Easygoing and welcoming, Kenneth never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.
Kenneth treasured spending time with his family, especially at family gatherings. He enjoyed fishing, sitting around bonfires, drinking coffee, collecting coins, and working with tools. A gifted mechanic and true “jack of all trades,” he had a talent for automotive repair and could fix just about anything. His willingness to share his knowledge and help others will be fondly remembered.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life and fiancée, Sarah R. Ritchey; his stepdaughter, Bella Ritchey; his sister, Donna Thompson and husband, Donald; his brother, Steven Hyder; his nephew, Christopher Dublynn; his aunt, Jean Vandiver; and his beloved cats, Tabby and Jinx, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
Though Kenneth’s time on earth was far too short, the love, laughter, kindness, and generosity he shared with others will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Condolences may be sent to the Hyder family at www.jacksonfuneralservice.com or C/O Jackson Funeral Service 1101 Greenville Highway, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Please include the name of the deceased on the condolence.
