Wayne T. Nix, 77, of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Carolina Village.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, Wayne was the son of the late William Washington and Dorothy Hill Nix and husband to the late Ann Nix.
He was preceded in death by nine siblings, Nellie Jones, Margie Freeman, Sam Nix, Ila Boyd, Sue Rhodes, Janie Dill, Opal McMurray, Bennie Nix and Marion Nix.
Wayne was an avid apple farmer. He also enjoyed the grading business and being a truck driver. He took great pride in being on the Board of Directors of Farm Credit. Wayne loved to travel and spend time with his friends. His pride was his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Jeff Nix (Dale) and Travis Nix (Stacy); one daughter, Rochelle Nix Ward (Johnny) all of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Jerred Nix (Jean Marie), Chelsea Nix Smith (Tyler) and Dena Nix Metzker (Adrian); four great-grandchildren, Victoria Saltz, Hayden Rochester, Boone Smith and Bethany Nix all of Hendersonville; one brother, Jimmy Nix; one sister, Yvonne Moore; his very special friend Kathy Rhodes and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with the Reverend Bryan Melton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2022 6-8pm at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at the residence.
Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
