Margaret Lillian Pace Mullinax passed away at her home on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Margaret was born to Lucian and Madeline Ross Pace on January 13,1933, the oldest of 4 children, Ross (Ann), Dan, (Darlene d. )and Skeeter d. (Mary Ann). She was a graduate of Flat Rock High School, graduating as Valedictorian, and awarded for 12 years of perfect attendance. She was married to Donald Boyd Mullinax for 70 years, making their home and raising their family in Zirconia, NC. Together they raised 4 children, Donita (Bill), Sharon (Gary d.), Gary (Lynda) and Terry Mullinax. They were blessed with 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Margaret retired in 1990 from Berkely Mills, Hendersonville. She was an incredible cook. Friends and family remember many wonderful home-cooked meals around grandma’s table. She was also an accomplished seamstress, sewing both professionally and for her children and grandchildren. Well known for her beautiful hand made dolls that she loved to create, she was also a faithful volunteer at Blue Ridge Humane Society Thrift Store.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her beloved husband Donald,, granddaughter Tera and youngest brother, Skeeter.
Funeral will be Sunday, July 16 at First Church of the Nazarene, Hendersonville, NC. Visitation will begin at 3:00, followed by service at 4:00. Burial will follow, at Shephard Memorial Park.
