In Loving Memory of Abbie Terebessy Doyle
October 3, 1959 – July 19, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Abbie Terebessy Doyle, who died peacefully on July 19 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC, after a brave journey with ALS. In her final days, she was surrounded by family and love.
Born in Aurora, Illinois, to Louis and Francis Terebessy, Abbie grew up in Florida and attended Plantation High School. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law – Kenneth & Alicia, Reilly & Holly, and Brendan & Whitney – her grandchildren – Beckham, Juliette, Logan, Eleanor, and Harlan – and her sisters – Debbie Salois and Rebecca Wolf.
A true free spirit, Abbie embraced life with wonder and spontaneity. She expressed her artistic soul through handcrafted jewelry and her eye for beauty through a lifelong love of antiques. She found joy in nature, especially in birds and starlit skies.
Abbie was a woman of deep creativity, boundless love, and quiet strength. She lived gently, gave freely, and left behind a legacy of kindness and courage. To know her was to be seen, supported, and deeply loved.
She is free now – healed and unrestricted, soaring with the birds, dancing among the stars.
Grammy, until we meet again—we love you.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August 7th, at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC. Visitation will begin at 1pm, with service beginning at 2pm. It was Abbie’s wish to be cremated, and her ashes will be present. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the ALS Association or a local wildlife conservation group.
