Marie “Annette” (Dalton) Pope, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2025 at 11:40pm.
She has battled Dementia for a few years and the disease took a bad turn from a fall she had taken 3 weeks prior. She had to have surgery on her leg which led to the rapid decline from the anesthesia. Please familiarize yourself with the disease if you are around someone who has it.
Annette was born in Hendersonville NC where she met the love of her life (Michael) and was married to him for 56 years. They moved away, started a family and worked their careers until they both retired in 2005. Then they lived travelling in their RV until they both moved back to Hendersonville in 2012 where they have lived since then.
She was at The Greens of Hendersonville nursing home at the time of her death. The staff took great care of her in the couple weeks leading up to the end. We are forever grateful to them.
Annette was preceded in death by her father, Coy Dalton, brother Steve Dalton and sister Darlene Dalton.
Survivors include her loving husband, Michael Pope of Hendersonville, one daughter, Jami Felver (James) of Overland Park, Kansas; one son Brent Pope (Tina) of Hendersonville; her mother, Nellie Bennett of Saluda, NC; six grandchildren, June, Jacob, CJ (Wren), Megan (Nick), Taylor and Bradley (Casey). Nine great grandchildren, two brothers; Coy Dalton (Debbie) and David Dalton (Debbie) and sister-in- law Mary. Funeral arrangements were made by Jackson Funeral Service. She had elected to be cremated and she shall wait on her husband and their ashes together, along with 2 loving dogs ashes, to be combined and eternally spread amongst the mountains and by the seas.
A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
