Mary Powell Justus, 92, of Hendersonville, flew away home on August 2, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Emma Lyda Powell; sister, Loula Hudgins; daughter, Alice Justus Rhodes; husband, Furman H. Justus; and long-time companion, Riley Jones.
Surviving are her sister, Louise Blankenship; children, Martha Justus Jonas, Jane Justus, and David Justus; Grandchildren, Lucy Gilliland Kolacsky, Meri Gilliland, and Jacob Rhodes. Beloved great-grandchildren, Henry Ruff, Jr., Madeline Ruff, Waylon Kolacsky, Joel Ornelas, Katie Velazquez, Cali Gilliland; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was a member of Refuge Baptist Church. She was employed with Hendersonville OBGYN for 40 years and was known and loved by many Hendersonville moms-to-be.
She was cherished by her children and grandchildren. And she cherished them.
A funeral service will be on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Refuge Baptist Church, Hendersonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
