William George York Jr., 25, of Mills River, found his peace, when he entered Heaven to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 31, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Henderson County, he was the son of William George and Amy Beth Thompson York, of Mills River NC. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Tarzan Bill York and Roberta Roberts Thompson, and one niece; Isabella Lee-Ana York.

A woodsman by trade, William loved nature, hunting, fishing, mountain climbing, and watching the sun rise or set made him happy. He was especially proud to be an organ donor, to know that he had helped others to live a more healthy life would have meant a great deal to him.

In addition to his parents, survivors include; one son; Cali, one daughter; Aleeah, two sisters; Christine Christina Curtis (Brandon) of Brooks ME and Caitlyn York of Mills River, his maternal grandparents; Theo Beylerian (Kenny) of Glenburn, ME and Reynold “Buzz’ Thompson of Bangor,  ME and three nieces; Annabelle, Abigail and Allie.

A funeral service will be held, Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service at 3pm. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm in the Chapel and at other times will be at the residence. A bonfire is planned at the residence Friday, August 13, 2021 after the service. All are welcome to attend. Please come and share stories and memories of William A memorial service will be held at a later date in Medway, ME.
