Gail Corn Rhodes, 79, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy deeply rooted in family, faith, and community.

She was born to the late Arnold E. and Laura E. Corn on July 6, 1947.

A lifelong resident of the area, Gail graduated from Hendersonville High School with the Class of 1965 and went on to attend Kings College in Charlotte. She spent her career at Pardee Hospital, retiring after an incredible 50 years of dedicated service. Guided by a steadfast faith, she was also a proud, lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.

Family was always the absolute center of Gail’s world. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Dena London (Scott), and her son, Kyle Rhodes (Cindi). Her joy multiplied as a Nana to Kailyn Rhodes, Anna Rimer (Evan), Kovah Aklis, Cooper Rhodes, and Dale London (Lacee). Gail was also filled with immense anticipation and love as she looked forward to soon becoming a great-Nana to two upcoming bundles of joy.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Kenny A. Corn. She is fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Ginger Corn, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who brought great happiness to her life.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the loving staff at Valley Hill Health and Rehab and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for the tender, compassionate care they displayed to Gail daily.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church, where Gail served for many years.

To know Gail was to love her.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them in a funeral service celebrating the life of Gail, Monday, August 10, 2026 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Hendersonville First Baptist Church, with Reverend Steve Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
