Mildred Collins Earley, 83, of Ellenboro NC. died Saturday August 7, 2021 in her daughter’s home.
Born January 31, 1938 to the late Pinkney Collins and Lethia Laughter Collins.
She had 6 brothers and sisters. John Collins (deceased), Joyce Collins Hollar, Jim Collins (deceased), Sarah Collins Nail, Anna Collins Moore, Jerry Collins and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of, Wanda Matthews Arnold, Carroll (Bud) Matthews (deceased), and Lisa Matthews Mathis. Grandkids include, Rebecca Flowers, Michael Buchanan, Marcus Wilkie, James Matthews, Amanda Mathis and Joseph Mathis. Great-grandchildren include James Pilgrim, Jessica Flowers, unborn child of Michael Buchanan, Chloe Dale, Charlee Risser, Carter Risser, Brooklyn Mathis, Joseph Mathis Jr.
She had been in poor health, after going to hospital for a stroke, they found a blood clot in her lungs, blood clots in neck, liver failure and stage 5 kidney failure.
She stayed 5 days in the hospital and was brought to the home of her daughter Lisa, to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren to spend her last 8 days.
A celebration of life will be held in her memory, Sunday August 22, 2021 at Crowe Park, 267 Crowe Park Drive, Forest City, NC 28043 from 2-5pm under the Jaycee’s shed. Bring a dish and a drink.
