Ronald Vincent Troglione, 75 years old, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away Saturday, August 7th, 2021 at Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC surrounded by family. Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1945, Ron grew up in Meadville, PA and attended Penn State University and Gannon College, graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Following graduation, Ron worked at Talon Zippers in Meadville where he met the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Karen Vandervort Troglione.  After his time at Talon, Ron went on to work for IBM in Charlotte, NC for 14 years and upon moving to Waynesville, NC, purchased a UPS Store franchise which he ran for a decade with his wife and family. Afterwards, he worked at the Biltmore Estate as a semi-retiree where he enjoyed working as a shuttle and trolley driver for 16 years.

A man who enjoyed working with his hands, Ron enjoyed restoring classic cars, landscaping and various building projects in the many homes he and his family lived. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling with his family and especially cruising the world with his wife, Karen.

Music was one of Ron’s true loves, as he would spend many a weekend enjoying dancing at Music On Main or Firehouse Subs in Hendersonville. Ron and Karen were always the first on the dance floor and the last to leave it.  He also enjoyed attending concerts of Oldies artists singing the classics.

A fan of classic films, Ron could often be found in his spare time in his favorite chair at home watching John Wayne or James Bond films, or fervently cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Ron was an active parishioner and usher at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, NC and a member of The Knights of Columbus.

Ron is preceded in death by parents, Vincent and Maryann Troglione and his sister, JoAnn Cory.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Troglione; his children Marc Troglione (Kristen Troglione) of Louisville, KY and Janelle Malinoski (Jay Malinoski) of Asheville, NC.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021 at The Riverwind Community Club House, Etowah,  NC.

Jackson Funeral Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.
