Reverend Billy Balcom, a devoted husband, loving father, and faithful servant of the Lord, entered his eternal rest on August 9, 2026. His life was marked by humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the Gospel. Anyone who knew him could testify to his gentle spirit, his steady faith, and his deep love for people. He lived what he preached, and his quiet strength left a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Balcom, who passed away on January 6, 2020. Their marriage was a testimony of faithfulness, partnership, and Christian love. Together, they built a home centered on Scripture, prayer, and service. Their devotion to one another was evident in every season of life.

On March 6, 1988, Reverend Balcom answered God’s call to establish New Beginning Baptist Church, founding a ministry where Scripture was faithfully preached and families could grow in their walk with Christ. From the very first service until the day the Lord called him home, he pastored with integrity, patience, and a shepherd’s heart. His preaching brought comfort, conviction, and hope. His leadership provided stability and direction. His gentle spirit shaped the congregation and touched countless lives within the church and throughout the community.

In addition to his wife, he also was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Balcom (Rose Ann); his mother, Mollie Mae Cable; and his step‑father, Alfred Cable.

Reverend Balcom is survived by his sons, Larry Hill and Timothy Balcom, and Timothy’s wife, Julie Balcom. He was a proud grandfather to Nathaniel, Nicolette, Noah, Robert, and Joel, each of whom brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind two cherished great‑grandchildren, Channing and Laina, who lit up his world with their smiles and laughter. His family was his heart, and he loved them deeply. Reverend Balcom is also survived by his siblings and extended family who loved him dearly: Jerry Balcom, Michael Cable (Ella), Darrell Cable (Clare Ann), and Tammy Burchett (Mark).

His life’s work, his love for his family, and his steadfast faith in Christ remain a powerful testimony. Though he is now in the presence of the Lord he served so faithfully, the impact of his ministry and the memory of his kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral service will be at 2:00pm Friday, August 14, 2026 at New Beginning Baptist Church, Mills River, NC. Burial will follow the service in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.jacksonfuneralservice.com  or C/O Jackson Funeral Service 1101 Greenville Hwy Hendersonville, NC 28792.
