James “Jimmy” Miles Holcombe Jr., 86, of Fairview, NC passed away Friday August 11, 2023 at Fleshers Fairview Health Care.
A native of Madison County, Jimmy was the son of the late James Miles and Julia Cox Holcombe and husband to the late Judy Chandler Holcombe who died in 2019. He was preceded in death by one son Alan Holcombe.
At the age of fourteen, Jimmy began his career in the funeral service industry. Having a career that span more than 70 years, Jimmy was a well respected and sought after Funeral Director and Embalmer and had served all across Western North Carolina. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are, one daughter; Nancy Robinson of Weaverville, two granddaughters; Jamie Payne and Kristen Robinson, one grandson; Brian Holcombe, one great granddaughter; Sarah Payne, two stepsons; John Bloomfield (Chastity) and Mark Bloomfield (Angie), two step grandsons; Brandon and Chandler Bloomfield, one step granddaughter; Brittany Gordon, step great grandson; Cash and one step granddaughter Willow.
A memorial service will be held, Monday August 21, 2023 at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Jay Jackson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
