Shirlene Orr, a long-time resident of Hendersonville, NC went to be with our heavenly father on the 22nd of August at The Elizabeth House.
Born in Cleveland, TN to William and Vivian Goss, she was the oldest of three children. She is preceded in death by her father William Goss, her mother Vivian Pitts, her stepfather Wayne Pitts, her grandmother Flora Mizell, and her grandfather Grady Mizell.
Shirlene is survived by her daughters, Pamela Green, Beverly Garren (Brian), Kelly Engel, Shelly Green (Michael); one grandson, Michael Todd; one granddaughter, Malana Green; three great grandchildren, Ashlene, Chase, and Lincoln Todd; one brother, Ron Goss (Kimberly); one sister, Brenda Adams (Tim) and several nieces and nephews.
She was a hard worker who enjoyed working with the public most of her life. She was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother who cherished her children and was more than proud of each of them. Shirlene most valued her time spent with family and cherished the moments they were all together. A very special person with strength and grace that she didn’t know she had.
She will be remembered by all who loved her, and we are all so grateful for the blessing that was given to us and the time we were granted to be part of this beautiful woman’s life.
Services will be held at Kings Grove Baptist Church, 2798 Pace Rd. Hendersonville, NC 28792 at 4:00pm Monday, August 26. The family will receive family and friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
