James Patrick Justus, 64, orginally of Hendersonville NC, currently residing in Blythewood, SC, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday August 26, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, SC.
He was the son of the late Jack Harold Justus and Patricia Ann Wellman Justus of Hendersonville. He was preceded in death by one brother.
James was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He owned and operated James Justus Plumbing. An avid deer hunter, James loved the outdoors, he had a very witty since of humor, making people laugh was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved westerns and was able to live his cowboy dreams out on the farm where he lived with his wife. James was a good family man, who never met a stranger. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors in addition to his mother Patricia Ann Wellman Justus include, his wife Diane F. Justus, three daughters, Shawntay (Billy) Cox of Zirconia, Jamie (Jason) Burgess of Hendersonville and Shenandoah Justus of Hendersonville, his bonus daughter Dotty (Jeremy) Parker of Hendersonville, four step children, one sister, Tricia (David) Whitaker of Hendersonville, ten grandchildren, Skyler, Sahara, Grayson, Landon, Jaden, Sianna, Niah, Sarina, Isaiah and Joss, six step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Roman and Silas one niece, Carissa and one nephew Justin.
A funeral service will be held, Monday August 30, 2021 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Locust Grove Baptist Church, with the Reverend Blair Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
