Martha Lois Reese Reid, 94, passed away at the home of her sister Nancy Corn of Flat Rock N.C. Monday morning September 08, 2025, from a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Eric Reese, a daughter Ruthie Gosnell, four brothers, Eric, Bill, Calvin, WC Reese. Three sisters, Gwen Reese, Eily Galloway, and Sue Owen.
She was born February 09, 1931. Martha was a committed church goer and loved Jesus. Her dog Molly was a great joy to her. She has lived in Florida, Rutherfordton, N.C. and Flat Rock N.C. The last four years she has been with her younger sister Nancy Corn who gave her excellent care.
Besides her sister Nancy, she is survived by her two sons, Rodney Mayfield, N.C. and Alan Reid N.C., two grandsons, Chad Mayfield – Brevard N.C., Shane Mayfield – Brevard, N.C. One granddaughter Amber Gosnell – Hot Springs N.C. and several nieces and nephews.
