Floyd Tony Thompson, 61, of Dana, NC, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Jewel King Thompson and a sister, Peggy Thompson.
He had worked at the Hendersonville Country Club for 46 years. He served as the Assistant Superintendent Greenskeeper there for the past 20 years.
He attended Dana Baptist Church.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.
He was a good-hearted man and loved his family and his friends, including his “Deep Gap Crew”.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Morris Thompson; his girlfriend, Tina Parham; his father, Hubert Floyd Thompson; four children, Tisa Riley and her husband Jeremy, Tonea Montgomery and her husband Wayne, Jesse Moore and his wife Jessica and Floyd “Tony” Thompson Jr.; six grandchildren, Teauna Riley, Aidan Riley, Isaiah Montgomery, Elijah Montgomery, Savannah Boyd and Wyatt Moore; two brothers, Frank Thompson and Donald Thompson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Jackson Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Dana Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Pegram officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
