Mary Lucille Brinkley Stepp 69, of Mills River went home to be with Jesus on Sunday September 22, 2019 from the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.
A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late John Brinkey and Catherine Lance. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
She loved working in her flower garden, watching birds especially hummingbirds. She was well known for her delicious home made pound cakes. She was the number 1 fan of the Atlanta Braves. She loved her simple life, her family and her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Suvivors include her loving husband of 50 years Larry N. Stepp, two daughters, Angela Lackey of Mills River and Leslie Hudgins and her husband Jarrett of Ehrhardt, SC , three grandchildren, Kayla, Brookes and Jarrett Jr. Hudgins all of Ehrhardt, SC, one great granddaughter, Rylee and several neices and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday September 29, 2019 at 2 PM at Upward Methodist Church 1138 Upward Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. Robert Earley will officiate.
