Brenda Orr Sexton passed away early Friday morning, September 23, 2022 at the age of 76 years or just over 2.4 billion seconds!
Brenda was the daughter of her wonderful parents, Pete and Geneva Orr and was born to them on March 9, 1946 in Hendersonville, NC. She had an older brother, Jimmy and two younger sisters, Denise and Susie.
Brenda was also raised in Hendersonville, including her high school years at Hendersonville High School where she was a part of the graduating class of ‘64.
Brenda lived her entire life in Hendersonville and began a family and raised her two children, Stacey (Bradshaw) Hawkins and Bryan Bradshaw with former and late husband Mike Bradshaw. She went on from there to spend the rest of her life with her husband Johnny Sexton of Hendersonville, NC.
Brenda was employed for several years with a local branch of Northwestern Bank, spent several years with Henderson County Public schools and ended her career with the Register of Deeds office at the Henderson County courthouse.
Brenda LOVED her family and friends! Literally, all of her 2.4M seconds of her life were spent making others feel special, loved and valued. She made sure strangers felt immediate acceptance and made sure her loved ones and friends felt unconditional love! This loving spirit is a by-product of her relationship with Jesus Christ and the love she felt from Him!
Brenda is survived by her husband of 28 years, Johnny Sexton; a daughter, Stacey Hawkins and her husband, Derek; a son, Bryan Bradshaw and his wife, Amy; two sisters, Denise Halford and her husband, Craig, and Susie Corn and her husband, Greg; six grandchildren, Allea (Hawkins) Donaldson and her husband, Hunter, Blaire (Hawkins) Patterson and her husband, Hunter, Eden Hawkins, Chad Bradshaw, Dallas Bradshaw and Sara-Kate Bradshaw; and her ‘favorite’ GREAT-grandchild, Ryker Patterson!
There will be a visitation at 1pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC.
