James Parkerson Bailes, III, 69, passed away after a very short battle with cancer surrounded by his family at the Elizabeth House.
He was born September 11, 1954 in Whitmire, SC, to Sara and James P. Bailes Jr. He graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1972, and attended Warren Willson College and later persued a business degree from USC Upstate and graduated in 1991.
He married Melissa, his wife at St. James Episcopal Church on January 11, 1986. They lived in Union SC, until moving back to Hendersonville NC. He was self employed in sales for most of his working life.
He is survived by his mother, Sara Bailes, his sister Ann Bailes Braswell (Robert) and his wife Melissa all of Hendersonville NC. He is also survived by his cherished children; James Parkerson Bailes IV, Of Greenville SC, Charlotte B. Garcia (Daniel) of Hendersonville NC and Samuel L. Bailes (Brandy) of Fletcher, NC. He left behind his beloved granddaughters Belle and Wrenley Garcia who made him the happiest granddaddy. James was a kind and humble man who loved his family, his faith and his country. He was raised a good southern man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets to find a good bargain. He sold on Ebay for 15 years.
The Celebration of Life Service will be at The Episcopal Church of the Holy family in Mills River NC, on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 11 o’clock in the morning and fellowship will follow.
