Helen A Thompson, age 87, of Hendersonville NC., passed peacefully on October 4th, 2025 at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC.
She was born in August, 1938 to Harvey W and Nadine Emig in Knob Noster, MO.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Ruby Huffman, Lois Lane and Dorothy Christopherson; brothers Kenneth Emig and Vernon Emig; grandson Sean M Thompson; and son in law James Rutherford.
At Helen’s core was her Christian faith and love of Jesus. She was a member of Fruitland Baptist Church. She studied the Bible unceasingly. She loved to sew and create fanciful outfits.
She loved her family, adored flowers, bubbles and Christmas lights.
She is also survived by her three children, Linda Rutherford of Hendersonville, NC., Laurie Hild (Robin) of Union City, TN., John Thompson (Marie) of Ruskin FL.; grandchildren Maghan Kirkby (Robert), Milan Cameron (Lei), Sara Snarr (Keith Gosch), James Thompson (MJ); one sister, Mardell Hill and fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you and hug to Rob and Maghan Kirkby who provided Helen a safe and loving home for the past four years.
Helen has requested no service.
