Virginia “Ruth” Connor Youngblood went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 16, 2023.
Born August of 1937, she was a daughter of the late Fred Newell Connor and Mildred Worsham Connor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Newell Connor and a nephew, Bryon Lloyd Connor.
She graduated from Fletcher School in 1956. She also earned a degree in cosmetology and worked as a hairdresser for some time. She volunteered for Four Seasons Hospice as well as assisting and caring for others in need.
Ruth was a very private, reserved lady. She was beautiful and she loved fashion, jewelry, art, and design. She designed jewelry and was a member of the Hendersonville Gem and Mineral Society. She enjoyed God’s creatures, finding joy in wildlife and many pets whom she loved over the years. She enjoyed traveling. Having lived in France was one of her fond memories.
Ruth loved the Lord. She attended Hendersonville First Baptist Church and maintained her membership at her family church, Hoopers Creek Baptist Church.
A special thank you to Christy Youngblood for the loving care that was shown to Ruth. We couldn’t have done this without you. Aunt Ruth will be missed by her family and friends.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her nephew, Greg Connor and his wife Shelly; great nephew, Austin Connor and his wife, Mackenzie; niece, Marilyn Connor; many extended family members.
A service to honor and remember her will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Haskell Parler and Reverend Phillip Youngblood officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. In leu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Hoopers Creek Baptist Church.
