Donnie Ray Hoots, 51, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at his home in Chesnee, SC. Born in Hendersonville, he was a graduate of Edneyville High School (1988) and studied basic law enforcement at Isothermal Community College. He was a reserve deputy with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department and owned his own Concrete Business. His favorite pass time was taking care of his horses and dogs. He was a friend to many and will be remembered as a man with a big heart who would help anyone who ever asked.
He is preceded in death by his father Eugene Hoots, his mother Ollie Mae Hoots, and his beloved brother Ronnie Hoots who passed on the same date 31 years earlier. Donnie loved the Lord and faithfully drove from his home in South Carolina to attend church with his family and friends in Edneyville each Sunday. We know he is having a joyous reunion with his loved ones gone before him. He is survived by his maternal aunt Pauline Edwards of Lake Lure and his paternal aunt Mae (Bud) Hoots Dalton of Edneyville and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021 at
10:00 am at Mt. Moriah Church in Edneyville. Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
