Joseph F. Bornheimer, 75, a beloved Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and friend passed away on Thursday, November 3rd. Joe was much loved by all with his quiet, calm presence. With his impish, playful and sometimes childlike manner, he was fun to be around and liked by all who met him.
Joe was a get up and go type of person and always ready for a new adventure. In his early twenties he became a world traveler. His love of travel took him to at least 70 countries and most of the United States. With suitcase at hand, he would often take off for last minute trips. As I used to say, he was truly a get up and go type of person.
His love of life was contagious, and he lived it to its fullest. As a proud, sober member of AA for 32 years he was an inspiration to all. He went out of his way to be a help to others and never said a bad word about anyone. It was said that he significantly changed others and their lives for the better with his quiet inspiration and helpful, respectful manner.
His death dance was long, but he never gave up hope. He lived simply taking one day at a time and enjoying it as it came. He maintained a quiet dignity, showing amazing strength and courage through it all. He will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:15 pm, in the Small Chapel of Jackson Funeral Service. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.
