Frances McCall Hill of Hendersonville, N.C. gently entered her heavenly home On November 18, 2025 after a short, declining illness.
She was born in Rosman, N.C. on June 8, 1930 to the late Willard Wilkerson McCall and Edith Searcy McCall. She is preceded in death by her husband John D. Hill, and by her second husband Thomas Lyda, her parents, Willard and Edith Searcy McCall, brothers Charles McCall, Rufus “Sug” McCall (Margaret), Paul Edward McCall (Jean).
She is survived by brother Arthur McCall, (Edith) and a sister Wanda McCall Aiken (Arthur Aiken, Jr and niece Melissa Aiken McIntyre.
Frances attended Rosman High School and then began her career at Ecusta in Pisgah Forest. She then accepted a position with BASF Corporation in Enka soon after and retired from this position after years of service.
A longtime active member of Refuge Baptist Church in Dana, she remained friends with former classmates, coworkers and members of her church family. She enjoyed gardening and yardwork most of all and was an accomplished at bunka punch embroidery.
Frances had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior and her daily prayers often included her desire for her reunion with loved ones.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 24 at Jackson Funeral Service in Hendersonville followed by a service at 2 p.m. A private burial service will follow. The family asks in lieu of flowers please make donations to Refuge Baptist Church of Hendersonville.
