Arthur Glenn Dotson “Butch”, 71, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

A native of Henderson County, NC, he was the son of the late Eugene F. Dotson, Sr., and Madge K. Dotson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene “Pee Wee” Dotson; a sister, Martha Dotson; mother-in-law, Dot McGraw; father-in-law, Joe McGraw; and brother-in-law, Bobby McGraw.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 46 years, Donna McGraw Dotson; a daughter, Lela Heatherly and her husband Roger; a son, Ryan Dotson and his wife Malana; grandchildren, Sophie Dotson, Isabel Dotson, Benny Dotson, Jackson Dotson, Kendall Dotson, Cassandra Clayton, Levi Heatherly, Anthony Heatherly (Talea), Justin Heatherly (Brittany), Austin Heatherly (Kim), Landon Heatherly, and Collin Heatherly; great-grandchildren, Jesse Clayton, Piper Clayton, Thomas Heatherly, Eva Heatherly, Bristol Heatherly, Rhett Heatherly, Tatum Heatherly, and his special Ray of sunshine; a sister-in-law, Debbie Dotson; brother’s-in-law, Bud McGraw, Eddie McGraw, and Sam McGraw; brothers of the heart, Jimmy Grant, James Stepp, and Donald Crosby; several aunts, uncles, cousins.

Butch worked for thirty years with Kimberly Clark as a machine operator. He retired from Advent Health after many years of faithful service. He loved working on old cars, specifically his 57 Chevy. He loved his Lord and family more than anything.  You could always count on Butch. All you had to do was call and he was there.

Butch was an excellent, loving husband, daddy, Papa, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and friend. We all love and miss him.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2023 in The Chapel in The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Lung Cancer Research Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
