Juynice “June” Fender Hensley, age 64, passed away on December 1, 2025, in Fletcher, North Carolina. Born in Asheville, NC, June was the beloved daughter of the late Bud and Mary Fender.
June was a bright, joyful presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a kind and outgoing spirit, a quick wit, and a friendly personality that made people feel welcome and cared for. To many, she was a “Mama Bear”—someone who protected, encouraged, and loved without hesitation.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, who were constant companions throughout her life. June also enjoyed music, traveling, and the freedom of motorcycle rides, which brought her so much joy and peace.
June is survived by her son, Cris Wheeler; her sister, Elaine Wright; and her niece, Jessica Wright. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronny Hensley, and her parents.
June cherished her family, friends, and her beloved dogs above all else. Her generosity, laughter, and warmth will be remembered by the many people whose lives she touched.
Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
