It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Marshall Johnson III, on Wednesday, December 3rd.
Marshall’s life and career carried him many places but his most recent home was located in the beautiful mountains of Hendersonville, NC. Family and friends remember him as an exceptional leader and loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Marshall embraced a life filled with connection, community, and joy. He loved the game of golf and was rarely happier than when he was out on the course. He enjoyed football, cherished time spent in Wisconsin—one of his favorite places—and found deep comfort and companionship in his loyal dogs who were always part of his life. He took great pride in welcoming new grandchildren and friends into his circle and sharing the things he loved most with them.
Above all, family was the heart of Marshall’s world. He treasured every moment spent with his children—Ashley, Chauncey, Hailey, Rylie, and son in laws, Justin and Cody. He also had an abiding love for his grandchildren: Walker, Arlow, Parker, Hazel, Lucy, Olivia, and Benjamin. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Scott and Kelly, whose relationships with him remained deeply meaningful throughout his life. In his later years, he found joy and companionship with his fiancée, Carole Daniel, with whom he shared countless dinners, conversations, and memories.
Marshall will be remembered with affection and appreciation by all whose lives intersected with his—through his career, his friendships, and his family. His presence was a gift, and the love and joy he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
Service details will be shared once available.
