Virginia “Lee” Flannery, always called just by the name Lee, passed away in the early hours of the morning December 5th, 2023. Her daughter was by her side and her angels were all around her.
Lee was born on February 14th, 1934, a true Valentine Baby, in N. Tonawanda New York. Her parents were Hugh and Virginia “Gin” McBride.
Lee grew up in various parts of New York and Oregon. She attended University of Vermont and received her bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She also met and married Ray Flannery on March 24, 1955, and after graduation Ray had become a fighter pilot with the Marine Corp and the two, later joined by their children, moved around to several states during his tours of duty. They landed in Manassas Virginia in 1987 and remained there until Ray’s passing in 2011.
Lee and her daughter Kelee decided to pick up and move to what they called “A Quieter, Gentler Place” Hendersonville North Carolina in 2012 and this is where the two began their new adventure together.
Lee was pre-deceased by her husband Ray and her daughter Jayme. She is survived by her daughter Kelee Flannery who misses and loves her to the moon and back. Always.
