Ellen Elizabeth McCarson Redden, age 91, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, and entered into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior.
Born to the late Clyde McCarson and Susan Jones McCarson, Ellen was a devoted homemaker who faithfully cared for her family and home. She lived her life with quiet faith, kindness, and a servant’s heart, reflecting God’s love in her daily actions. Those who knew her were blessed by her gentle spirit and steadfast devotion. She was an avid NASCAR and baseball fanatic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Roy Redden; daughter, Diane Kim; brothers, Donald McCarson, Daniel McCarson; sister, Melzinnia Levi.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved sons, Michael Redden, Ronnie Redden and his wife Catrina Kay, David Redden; two daughters, Joyce Moore, Doris Redden; grandchildren, Nicole Sheaman, Charlie Gordon, Steven Kim, Kenneth Gordon, Tina Brickell, Wayne Redden; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dewitt McCarson, Leslie McCarson; sisters, Myrtle Marshall, Shirley Pace, Sylvia Moon, Marie McMinn; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loyal fur baby, Lucky.

A funeral service celebrating Ellen’s life and faith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 18, 2025, in the Chapel in the Pines at Jackson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Though she will be greatly missed, the family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and finds comfort knowing Ellen is now at peace.
