Dec 20, 2021

David C. Bishop age 83 of Hendersonville, passed peacefully in his home on December 13th, 2021. He was born in Aurora, Illinois. David was the only son of the late Clarence Bishop and Bernice May Bishop. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Judith Bishop in 2018.

David earned a PhD in Biology in the area of immunology. He had extensive experience over a number of years working for and consulting with medical devices manufacturers to bring solutions to regulatory and product development problems. He was caring, curious and driven with his medical background.

Over the years his research took him to Wisconsin, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania but retirement called him to the mountains of North Carolina. He loved to be outside. Always moving he could be found hiking, tried kayaking, swims in the local lakes, biking, sightseeing, gardening, and even had a run in with a local bear. Don’t worry he was always prepared with a whistle, map, and compass. On rainy days David enjoyed restaurants/desserts, reading John Grisham, volunteer work, telling stories with his sense of humor, sports/football, world news, looking up the latest and greatest techy products on his computer, and had in-depth conversations with his favorite wine or beer.

The legacy that he started, were 3 daughters. Janet Pretorius (David) of SC. Their children are Nathan, Julie, Melanie, John, James, Elisabeth, Rachel, Andrew and Matthew. Anne Bishop (Joanne) of PA. Their children are Jaxon and 2 foster boys to be adopted in 2022. Kimberly Bishop-Cox (Angeline) of NC. Their puppies are Stella and Scout. We Love You Dad

He is already dearly missed …. From his own family all over the country to Judie’s large Wisconsin family, and to all the fabulous friends near and far ……
