Stephen C. Funk
12/21/1968-12/21/2021
Born to and preceded in death by parents Carl (Danny) Funk and Patricia (Herring) Funk in Brockport NY.
He grew up in NY and moved with his family to North Carolina in 1993. Even at an early age, Stephen had an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed animals and the outdoors, was an avid hiker and enjoyed kayaking, camping and cooking his specialty “po- boys” on an open fire. He was a great fisherman and never came home empty handed.
Stephen had many jobs in his lifetime, was a quick study and ‘a jack of all trades.’ He enjoyed ‘tinkering’ with and driving his jeep both on and off road.
Not shy, he made friends easily and was generous and liked to use his skills to help others . He never came across a stranger. Everyone he knew probably has a great story to tell.
He was naturally curious and enjoyed antiquing even as a boy, sneaking off to an elderly neighbor’s ‘treasure pile’ behind her house, where he found many antique bottles and other ‘treasures.’
Stephen had a great smile and used it often.
