Walter Austin Ducker, 83, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Elizabeth House.
He was a native of Buncombe County and a graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School.
Walter had worked at the Carl Sandburg home for 30 years. He loved working outside and meeting the people that visited. He enjoyed his friends at the garage. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years; Patsy Branch Ducker; one son, Tim Ducker and his wife Tracy; one daughter, Kim Ducker Powell and her husband Johnny; three grandchildren, Hannah Allman, Austin Ducker and Addison Ducker; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Bailey Allman; three sisters, Revonda Rice, Joyce Ingle and Ruby Roberson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at eleven o’clock in the morning until twelve noon at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service.
