Martha Garrett “Tutu” Ward, 79, of Dana, NC went to be with the lord Sunday, December 26, 2021.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County.
She was the daughter of the late Carl and Eunice Townsend Garrett and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph James Ward Jr., a sister, Betty Johnson, a brother, Charles Wayne “Chuck” Garrett and a nephew, Jackie Johnson.’
She was a member of Refuge Baptist Church.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She loved her family with all her heart.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ward Stone and her husband Scott of Hickory, NC and Gina Ward Higgins and her husband Robby of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Jesse Greene, Haley Ward Christopher and her husband Bransen, Hunter Stone and Lily Higgins; seven great grandchildren, Albert, Paisley, Raylee, Hudsen, Forest, Violet and Joseph, a sister-in-law, Christine Fletcher; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a great great nephew.
A grave side service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 31st at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dave Marshall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Refuge Baptist Church or the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.
