John Wendell Moffat, better known as “Jack”, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, December 30, 2022.
Jack was born on March 10, 1939 in Gary, Indiana. He was the son of the late Lois Ketcham Moffat and the Reverend Donald Moffat. Jack spent the last 35 years of his life in Western North Carolina.
Jack attended Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio where he majored in business. He was fortunate to travel the world through his jobs as a Project Manager/Administrator and for pleasure.
He spent several years in the Middle-East and Thialand. Jack retired from the Ryder Corportation.
Jack is survived by his son; John “Blake” Moffat, his daughter; Marylea Moffat, four grandchildren; Jennifer Lily Moffat, John “Phillip”Moffat (Haddee), Jessica Ann Hess (Charles) and Jonathan “Myles” Moffat and one daughter-in-law; Marilyn Moffat.
Jack donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital for years. He asked that anyone who would like to remember him to do so by donating to St. Jude in his memory. Donations can be made to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.
